Re: ecommerce tools
What types of things are you looking to accomplish with them? Are you
looking for a shopping cart, or more than that? Do you have a particular
server technology in mind (ASP, JSP, PHP, etc.)?
Best regards,
Chris

Re: ecommerce tools
Well, let's see. I'm not sure exactly what you're after, but if you're
looking for an open-source, full-featured eCommerce solution, one of the
coolest I've run across is at http://www.oscommerce.com/. It uses PHP and
MySQL, although you could tweak the code for other databases if you like.
Best regards,
Chris

Re: ecommerce tools
For CF, there is a nice tutorial at WebMonkey.com that provides a nice basic
shopping cart. Also there's a good shopping cart in Ben Forta's book -
"ColdFusionMX Web Application Construction Kit" neither of these come with
nay kind of "back end" but they are good starting points if you are looking
for a freebee.

a superb free set of extensions, for building an ecoomerce site, he's
also produced a nice little downloadable working site, to demonstrate
how to use it. And one of his associates has written an excellent
tutorial. I highly recommend it.

Re: ecommerce tools
Hi Chris,
There a lot of open source ecommerce tools like above mentioned ones in the market, but you know they provide limited opportunity and when you make your on-line business larger it gets you frustrated.
There are also web-based alternatives like workforcetrack which gives greater opportunity.
The most valuable case is that it is supported with customer relationship management, accounting and case management.
You may look through features and compare prices

Best of luck!Fareed Guest
