Edit Group not working
I'm at my wit's end trying to solve this problem. Here's my environment:
1. Contribute 2.01 for Windows
2. Websites running on Redhat 9
I'm only experiencing problems with one of the websites. When I administer the
site in Contribute, select a user group (either Users or Administrator), then
press "Edit Group", I get the message:
"Operation failed. The resource is not a directory or there might be a
permission problem."
I am able to edit any page on that website, but cannot edit the permissions.
Argh!!
In my attempts to fix this problem, I have:
1. Clicked "Remove Administration..." to remove admin info from the website,
then created a New connection.
2. Removed the _mm directory from the website, then created a New connection.
3. Ensured that the new _mm directory and contribute.xml file on the Linux
server had the same permissions as all other editable files.
Nothing I've done has fixed the problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Edit Group not working
With the help of Macromedia's tech support, and installing Contribute 3.1, I
was finally able to find the solution.
It seems that Contribute 3.1 can generate log files that aid in debugging:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/tn_19506. When I examined the log file, I noticed
that Contribute's Administer function couldn't read the directory containing
Dreamweaver templates (but *could* read it when editing pages... go figure).
Once I set the permissions for that directory from 644 o 755, everything worked
fine.
