Edit Page Hang-up in 3.11

I had a similar problem all of a sudden contribute would close itself when
trying to edit page. Ended up being a permissions isssue. Use debug to see if
you have a similar problem.

As a Mac user, my 79-year-old brain doen't comprehend your reply. Does
"permissions" refer to the note that the page is in use on another computer.
Since I have only one computer, what other one?

Sorry, but the 19506 message you refer to is beyond my comprehension asa Mac
user.

NOTEthe message "note that the page is in use on another computer." leads me to
belive that it migh be a different problem than I had.

The following is how I solved my problem.

In my case Permission on the server where incorrect. The user didnt have
acces to one of the folders that contribute used to make changes and instead of
giving me an error it just closed. I debugged the problem by using
[url]http://www.macromedia.com/go/tn_19506[/url].

Try the following (Steps 1-4 are pretty much what the article is asking you to
do)
STEPS
1 Make sure contribute is not open.
2. Create a folder on your desktop called ct3netperformancelog
3. Open Contribute
4. Do what ever it is that makes contribute stop.
5. Go to the folder ct3netperformancelog that you created in step 2
6. There should now be a file in the folder open it, and copy it into this
forum.
7. Once that is posted i can read the log and see if you are having the
similar problem I was, and hopefully help you resolve it.

dream I discovered a way out of my troubles.
By trashing the old program and installing 3.11, and then by individually
removing layouts and reconnecting to my website i was once again able to
Administrator, and edit the pages.
