What software do you have and how do you want to edit it?

You need to have Adobe Acrobat (NOT Reader) to make any changes to the PDF and this is only if there is no security is applied.

Also, the ways in which you can edit a PDF are limited. A PDF is desgned as a final product and is not a work in progress.
You can make minor textual changes - add/remove some words and change font size and colour etc but you have nowhere the editing capacilities of MS Word or even Notepad!

Adobe Acrobat is primarily a conversion tool - from any application that can print, in theory, to a PDF.

So, exactly what do you mean when you say "edit" and perhaps we can provide some more insight.

    Thomas,
To edit PDF files I use 2 plug-ins, Quite imposing and Enfocus pitstop. I find them very helpful. There are so many plug-ins in the market but I guess those two are the best.
You can also use the Touch-up tools that you can find within the full version of Acrobat.

I use Enfocus pitstop and it works well.
Small changes (changing 1 word, move an object) can be done in Acrobat, but the fonts you need has to been installed on your system.
