Edit tag/comment & non-edit tag comment

I was wondering if it is possible to create certain comments or tags which can
be applied in a site created with GoLive, which would designated areas that are
not editable in Contribute. If so, what are those tags and/or comments.

Currently my client can edit a site created in GoLive with Contribute.
However, templates can also be edited, because Contribute does not recognize
the GoLive template tags/comments. This can have undesirable consequences.

Hmm - I thought GL used DW's template comment syntax.

Can you show me an example GL page with this markup, please?

An example page would be here:

This page has several components, such as the upper navigation bar and the
email subscription feature and at the bottom the credits and copyright info.

This page was create in GoLive 6.0.1 for Mac OS X.

I see - you are not really talking about templates - those are components.

If you add this markup to the page -

<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="whatever" -->
your content to be editable
<!-- InstanceEndEditable -->

then you will have created a Contribute Editable Region.

Does that make sense?
