Default Editing hiddenlayers

I've seen this referred to in an earlier post, but it doesn't really answer my
question, which is this. Is it possible to edit text on a hidden layer in
Contribute 3?

I'm a bit of a newbie with Contribute. I bought it about a year ago so a
client could update news pages on their site, but it never happened. Now I've
found a new use for it. I'm developing a tourism website and I want to add
alternate language versions - Currently it's in English and I plan to add
french to begin with. The site -

http://www.lookaroundcornwall.com - has been designed using DWMX. I want to
add the french language translations as a hidden CSS layer and make the
relevant language layer visible using Javascript (don't ask me how!) when a
button is selected by the viewer.

I want the translator to be able to add the french language translation to the
(hidden) layer but, as far as I can see, it's not possible to view and/or
activate layers in the contribute browser.
If anyone has done anything like this before and can shed some light, I'd
really appreciate it.

Hi,

You can use Dreamweaver to create your pages. Try loading the page in Contribute.

Contribute supports Layers. But you cannot edit the jscript inside the page
( You will have to switch back to DW to do the same )

p.s: Not sure on your idea of french/English stuff though :)

Thanks Avinash. I have designed the site in Dreamweaver. When I load the page
in Contribute both text layers are visible, but then I click to edit the hidden
layer it disappears!. Ideally, what I need is some way to manage layer
visibility in Contribute, or at least a means to access the hidden layer to
edit it.
