Editing Image appears Black
I have received a PDF that says it was created with Adobe Acrobat 6.02 Image Conversion Plug-in, PDF Version: 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x).
When I open the PDF using Acrobat 6, the file looks fine. But when I edit the image, it opens in photoshop as CMYK, but all channels seem like a negative image, or in other words everything seems dark or black. The only only unusual error I received when initially opening the PDF through Acrobat was that there were PDF tags in the document and may need to be deleted for reflow and editing purposes. I tried deleting the tags and not, both instance yield the same black image in Photoshop CS.
Does anyone know why this is happening and if there is a fix?

Re: Editing Image appears Black
I believe that the "Image Conversion Plug-in" information indicates that someone opened a supported format (TIFF, JPEG, etc.) in Acrobat 6, probably with File > Open. In my testing opening up RGB or CMYK files in that way look just fine if you subsequently open them in Photoshop. So the image itself might be defective, or corrupted.
I'd ask your customer for the original image that the PDF was created from.

Re: Editing Image appears Black
Thank you Steve, this make sense.
In terms of the "Image Conversion Plug-in", do you know any more or have any more info about this? I have never heard of it, and I am curious who makes it and how it works.

It's part of Acrobat. Put there by Adobe.

Re: Editing Image appears Black
Thank you Gary, I had no idea what a simple thing this was until you directed me to take a look at the application. I prefer they distill their files.
