Default Editing Links in an Interactive PDF in Professional 6.0.1

I am a brand new acrobat professional user, but I have some experience creating interactive documents with HTML and Lingo. Anyway, I spent a couple of days creating links for a table of contents in a large interactive document. Click on chapter 1 and the chapter 1 pdf opens up.

BUT! (AAAUGH!) When I put the files onto a disk and sent the disk to my boss the links would not open the files. Turns out that the links are telling the program to try and open on documents on my computer like so:

    Underling>Main>Project>Support Files>chapter 1

Well, I know what I have to do, but I cannot spend another two days fixing these things one by one. Is there anyway I can open a text document version with the tags and do a quick Find and Replace with all those tags? Or am I stuck doing this one link at a time?

    Thank you in advance.

Andrea, I had to take this post as a recovering Director author. Welcome to Acrobat!

It sounds like you know what you have done: just in case I'll say it any way...you need to keep all the docs with the links in the same relative path. If they are all in the same relative position in a set of folders then you can move them without risk.

Acrobat has no method of altering this except, one by one. There is an external tool called "ARTS PDF Linker" it costs $299.00. Although somewhat expensive it is a remarkable tool. Here is the link...

The other option is to write a JavaScript that would recursivly go through document and make the changes, this is quite possible but not by any means easy.

Andrea, I just wanted to add that there is a demo of Arts PDF Linker.
