    Default editing mathematical formula

I like to write and edit mathematical formula some flash texts. I tried to
use mathtype: it generates a .gif file, it is not very smart.
    Has someone a good solution?

You're going to have to work on this question. It doesn't make much
sense. Perhaps you can post it in French as well...

I also do it with MathType or the built-in formula editor of word. At
the moment I don't see a better solution. Of course you could write a
MathML2SWF parser in ActionScript - but this is a lot of work...

We at Design Science have thought of adding a feature to generate
equations in SWF directly. Is there any interest?

This would be great! I do educational material and formulas are always a
little bit of a problem. GIF formulas look nice as long as you don't
scale them (e.g. 1.5 times) or shift them (e.g. 0.5 pixels) in Flash!!

We use Corel's equation module, then export result to swf format.
    It looks quite nice.

I didn't find an "equation module". What is the name of the software you
are using? I found an Formula Composer™ but no indication for a possible
SWF export. Can you explain a little bit more?

Nowadays I'm not personaly involved in this part of production.
And I must apologize that I lied a bit.
    Exact procedure is like this.

You need MS Office and Corel (we use Corel 10)
You just need to write equation in MS Office Equation Editor, then just
select this object, then Ctrl-C Ctrl-V to Corel. Then Select File>Export
Name your file. Select SWF format, check "Object" and optimize, and voila.

You can also adjust font settings for equations in MS Office.

Hey thanks that's great! I don't have Corel Draw but Adobe Illustrator
and it works just fine - copy 'n' paste and then export as SWF.

When I load the formula dynamically it works fine in Flash MX:
    clipFormula.loadMovie("formula.swf");

The SWF formula looks great but I get some wrong letters when I "file >
import" it into Flash - maybe I have to change the font settings?

Hmmm... I've tried this procedure only via Corel. Maybe AI exports it as
font's not outlines. Try to transform type to outlines first.

Other solution is to set typical fonts like Arial for example.
    Just try.
