editing PDF in illustrator without breaking code
In order to explain this, i'll give it as a scenario.
Let's say you design a form with minimal graphics in Adobe Illustrator CS3. you save a copy as PDF. Bringing in the PDF, you create input fields, check boxes, dollar figures, etc. You send it to the client to review.
They have a change, but it regards altering the design of the template. Is there a way to manipulate the design of the PDF via illustrator without losing the code?
In past experience of trial and error. I've come to find out that when i have to modify a PDF in illustrator after i've added all those input features, I've had to redo it all over again in Acrobat pro (currently using Acrobat Pro 8).
Is there a more efficient process of doing this?

Re: editing PDF in illustrator without breaking code
By "code" you mean the form field design?
No, you cannot preserve this in Illustrator.
But what you can do is
Open the OLD form.
Use Document > Replace Pages from the updated file.
Save as a new name.
Keeps the form fields from the old form, but replaces the page
content.
