Editing test already coverted to outlines - Adobe Illustrator Windows

Illustrator 10, Win XP An old designer where I work left all files with text converted to outlines. Is there a way to change it back so that I can edit the text? Thanks...

    No. The text is gone.

Make a new layer for the text and reset. If the text is all the same font, then just getting one right will let you define a character or paragraph style to apply to the rest.

Feel free to bad-mouth the designer for not saving a hidden layer with the text intact. Oh, make sure that wasn't done first, then bad-mouth.

No, Peter. Your only hope is that the designer left live text on a separate layer or a separate text file.
