Experience, experience, experience. The degree says little to nothing about
    your prowess.
Don't have experience? Early on in my career, I had to find a company to get
started with, so I found someone with a particularly ty website that was
looking for a web developer, and then I just redid their site. Not the whole
thing, just the general design and a couple example links. Got hired less
than an hour after I sent them my work. They didn't even take my details
(education, etc.) until I started working there. Did the same thing with the
next company I worked for. Can't say it worked for everybody, because I only
tried it twice with 100% success rate.
