Enterprise Manager Problem - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

I can connect fine via query yzer, but it takes several minutes to expand the databases on one particular server. Other servers, database expand fine. Any hints? [email]pcwiktriwest.com[/email]...

    Peter,

    Make sure that "Auto Close " is OFF.How many databases? See

    Besides the 'auto-close' flag, which I also suggest because that was once a
    problem on my system, I also know another possible reason I once had:

    If you use enterprise manager from SQL server 2000 on a SQL server 7, it is
    very slow if no service pack is installed. Note that the service pack must
    be installed on the computer where you run the enterprise manager to solve
    this particular problem (off course it should also be installed on the
    computer running thr SQL server).

    Thanks guys. It appears it was the autoclose option. That's what you
    get when you have to clean up some else's mess. I never would have
    thought that someone would choose this option (and autoshrink) on a
    production server.

    Watch out so you don't use any of the "lesser" editions. I think that for instance personal
    edition has these on by default.
