EOS 75-300 Lens Problem - Photography

Hi, My EOS EF 75-300 Ultrasonic lens focus ring has become very stiff to rotate towards the end of its travel (approaching infinity). The autofucus cannot override this stiffness and when I focus manually it's strong enough to change the zoom setting - very annoying. Does anybody know of a fix for this stiffness ? Is it a common problem with this lens ? I hadn't been using this lens a lot but I will need to use it a lot on holiday soon and really need to get the stiffness out - (don't suggest giving it a cold shower!!). ...

    Default EOS 75-300 Lens Problem

    Hi,

My EOS EF 75-300 Ultrasonic lens focus ring has become very stiff to rotate
towards the end of its travel (approaching infinity). The autofucus cannot
override this stiffness and when I focus manually it's strong enough to
change the zoom setting - very annoying. Does anybody know of a fix for this
stiffness ? Is it a common problem with this lens ? I hadn't been using this
lens a lot but I will need to use it a lot on holiday soon and really need
to get the stiffness out - (don't suggest giving it a cold shower!!).

    Thanks

If nothing else, you can get a CLA (clean, lube, adjust) service done on
it. Probably around $100, or just over.

Probably nothing you can do. Take it to a repair shop.
