    Default EPS Background issues

We are noticing background issues when we import an Illustrator EPS file (saved in 10.0) into a Quark (4.11) document. The designer is importing the EPS into a graphic box and then tagging that box with a PMS color. When they do that they are noticing that the EPS graphic is taking on a lighter shade of the background color they selected. Everything looks fine when no background color is selected. And I am noticing that this secondary color disappears at times when the EPS is moved in the Quark Graphic box.

Has anyone heard of anything similar to this? Is there a fix? Are we saving our files incorrectly or with a wrong preview?

Is it just on screen or when printing separations?

Print separations to see if it right. Can't trust the screen or composite printout.

If it is in separations I would love to see a sample. It doesn't have to be that file, by the way, can be anything that you can get it to duplicate.
