Erase Tool
Hi I'm new to Macromedia Fireworks MX and I just cannot seem to get the
erase tool to work properly. If I draw a line using either a line tool or a
brush tool I can erase the line with the eraser tool. However if I draw a
filled circle or rectangle I cannot erase any part of that circle. I am
trying to do this tutorial

but I cannot use the erase tool to split the circle in half. In fact any
filled circle or rectangle will not let me erase any part of it. What am I
doing wrong or am I missing?
Thanks
Jackie

Re: Erase Tool
Hi Jackie,
The Eraser tool only works on Bitmaps. You'll need to cut the shape in
half with the Knife tool, or cut it by punching another shape through it.

Re: Erase Tool
This is definitely not the preferred option, but you could flatten your
vector circle. Then it will be a bitmap, and you can do what you want to it
that way, including erase it. However, it is much cleaner and faster to do
what Linda said.
