Eraser Icon
I am using Photoshop 6.0 on windows.
When I use the eraser tool the little circle turns into just a little target. I have no idea what I do to get it this way and no idea how to change it back to a circle. It doesn't matter if I quit out of Adobe and launch back in, still remains the little target tool. Have also noticed that other tools (such as the wand) go through the same transition, instead of their normal icon they turn into a little target thing, the actual tool still works perfectly, i just find it easier to erase things when I know where the boundries are :)
Help?

Re: Eraser Icon
Are you accidentally pressing your caps lock ley? Caps lock changes the cursor from brush size to precise mode.

Re: Eraser Icon
To clarify what Helen [correctly] said: you can chose the kind of mouse pointer you have from prefs, essentially "precise" [the little target] or "brush size" [the circle]. Caps Lock lets you temporarily override the prefs setting.
I have heard about this getting "stuck". If that is the case [i.e. it's not Caps Lock that's causing the problem], first try swapping the setting in Edit/Preferences and then swapping it back, shutting PS down in between. If that doesn't work, you may need to reset prefs [see FAQ or come back here].
