error applying effect
In IllustratorCS, when attempting to apply certain effects to a path I receive a message "could not filter the image because an error has occurred." Most of the effects are not available (able to be selected) I believe this is because I do not have the plug-ins for them?
Has anyone received this error message and how did he/she resolve it?

Some of the effect filters are only supported in RGB mode.
You might describe what you where doing to the stroke that is which effect you were applying.
