Error code 14 will not open any ID files

ID2 will not open any docs. It says files are incompatible with Indesign. (error code 14) Does this mean I will have to re-install ID?

What's exact error message? Sounds more like you're trying to open CS or
CS2 files in which case you're only choice is to upgrade.

Restarted and no better. Then quit and tried again and now they open. I was getting low memory messages before that. When that happened, then I would quit and it would crash on the way to quitting. This happend 3 times before it would not open ANY files. Was about to reinstall but now I will wait.

Running 3.5 gigs of ram on dual 2 gig G5. If I recall, there is no way to manage memory in osX. Is that right?

Are you sure they're InDesign files?

Fortunately, the OS handles this by itself now, and from what I read it does
a pretty good job. 'Memory errors' seldom have anything to do with memory,
and in ID such errors often point to font problems.
