Error creating new page from nested template

Hello,

When I try to save a new page, I get an error message reading: "Contribute is
unable to create a new page from this templage because its parent template is
not enabled for your role."

I don't want the parent template enabled for my users. The parent template has
the masthead and the navigation on it; the nested templates are for different
sections of the site. Do I really have to give my users access to the parent
template to get past this error message?

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

Try creating a blank page from the nested template and uploading it to your site and enable users to create a page from that page instead of directly from the template.
