Error loading video
:sad; I bought a sony handycam in order to create flash sites with video. I
uploaded the video to my pc. When I try to import it into flash or
dreamweaver, the wizard tells me there is a space or invalid character in the
file name or path name. There isn't. In fact, just to be sure, I renamed the
video a.mpg and moved it to the root directory c:\. I saved the html file
b.html to c:\ . So there are no spaces or special characters. Any
suggestions???????

Re: Error loading video
You might want to avoid posting the same topic on more than one forum... some people get itchy about that.
How are you importing the video into Flash? Are you using Flash 8 Video Encoder?

Re: Error loading video
Thanks for the tip about multiple forums - didn't know which was the right one.
To import the video into flash and dreamweaver, I am simply using the menu
item Import -> Video. This invokes the Flash 8 Video Import wizard. I enter
the appropirate information and when I try to save it the wizard gives me the
error message: " The URL cannot contain spaces or special characters. Change
the path or file name and try again".
In case it matter the file is a .mpeg created on my Sony DCR-SR40 30 GB
Handycam Camcorder.

Re: Error loading video
Have you thought of checking the folder(s) in the directory of the mpg? It
looks like you did because you tried the root directory. I do not know why you
are getting that error. As far as I can tell, MPEG2 is okay to import. Have you
tried using the Flash 8 Video Encoder stand-alone app instead of importing?
