Error Message When Saving a File

I am using windowx XP, recently, I frequently got a message
"Acrobat PDF File format is having difficulties. A file error has occured"

when i am trying to save my work in illustrator.

Then I have to close the program and lost all the works.

what does this message mean? and how to fix it?

Do a search using the "Forum Search" link on this page, enter the whole phrase or parts into the box, and find lots of info on this issue.

Meanwhile, if this were to happen again, simply copy ALL the artwork in the document, then start a new doc, paste (in the flyout on the layer menu, check: Paste Remembers Layers, and don't forget to uncheck after you get done), then save that doc and rename it later if need be.
