Default Error Msg: "Could not copy the page to your computer"

Recently in adding a sub domain onto a Web site that we work with on an already
existing account we get this error when trying to edit any subpages of the sub
domain:

"Could not copy the page to your computer"

And once you click the ok box, the yellow warning tab shows up at teh top of
the screen saying "You can't edit this page because it wasn't found on the
website or it is a directory listing".

Oddly, contribute will still allow editing at the index file of the sub domain.

Now contribute should work fine with a virtual domain except that the sub
domain is just pointing to a folder which is already defined as a Contribute
site. Contribute won't allow for defining a new site to just the sub domain as
a separate entity. This may be related as I am sure if the sub domain was on
its own and not a sub directory of a contribute site this would work fine.

To better describe the situation:

There is a site, that is already a contribute managed site and has been
working for the most part just fine:

http://www.somesite.com/contribute/

We added a subdomain:

http://sub.somesite.com which points to the directory
www.somesite.com/contribute/sub

Now, we can use contribute to edit the index file of http://sub.somesite.com
but it throws the above error message when it attempts to edit files other than
the index using the subdomain, e.g. http://sub.somesite.com/page2.html

Any ideas?

No ideas at all? This issue hurts our ability to continuing pushing for Contribute to be installed on our diverse Web domain.
