Error opening multiple files in PS 5.0.2
We receive an internmittent error when opening multiple files within Photoshop 5.0.2.
When more than one file is open and an attempt to open another file from the same directory is made, the error "This file is already open. Do you want to open this file in another window?" appears.
There is no fixed number of open files after which this error occurs and the error is intermittent.
The error has only been displayed on our systems running PS v5.0.2.
PS v7.0 does not display the error.
We run Win 2000 sp3 workstations connected via 100mps network to Red Hat v9 file servers running samba.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Nick.

Re: Error opening multiple files in PS 5.0.2
If I had to guess (and trust me, I do) I'd say that there's a basic issue between version 5.0.2 and Win2K. Version 5 is SO old, that I'm not sure how reliable or "lack of quirkiness" one should expect in a FAT32 or NTFS environment.

Re: Error opening multiple files in PS 5.0.2
That is the line I am following, although I'm not suspecting Win2k as much as I am a Samba related issue, as the problem has only surfaced since we switched to Linux servers from Windows... time to train the crew in PS v7 I think...
Thanks for the contribution.

I can't speak to Samba, but as far as v7 is concerned, you won't be sorry.
