Error Type 2 - MS Word/Office 98 OS 9.1
I have MS Office98 running on a Powermac8500 running OS 9.1. Every time
I try to save a Word document the application unexpectedly quits with an
"Error 2 message". I've installed all possible updates for Office98/Word
and it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

Try this --
For Type 2 errors and cut and paste problems --
Usually caused by certain Office files being replaced by incompatible
versions (often never versions) when you install certain programs
(Photoshop, OS 9, IE 5, Mindspring 4, Outlook Express 5.02).
Trash (from the Extensions folder) Microsoft Component Library,
Microsoft OLE Automation, Microsoft OLE Library, Microsoft Structured
Storage. Then close all folders and start an Office 98 program. It will
reinstall the needed files.
Not sure whether you need to then reinstall any of the updates after that.
On the Microsoft website, try Support -- then Knowledge Base, then
Office 98 for Macintosh and then Article ID Q253336.
