error when accessing asp-site whilst uploading access database - ASP Database

Hi, i have a site running in asp with an access database that is being queried. If i'm uploading my database to the server, and at that same time someone is accessing the site, everything "crashes" i.e. the asp-app doesn't work anymore. Could this have to do with the way i'm opening the database? These are the lines of code i'm using: DSN_BASE = "DBQ=" & server.mappath("../MyDirectory/MyDatabase.mdb") & ";Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};Driverld=25" set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.open DSN_BASE Any help would be appreciated! Regards, T....

    Hi,

    conn.open DSN_BASE

    Any help would be appreciated!

The database is a file. You're in the middle of overwriting the file with a
copy of itself, of course the open is going to work right.

Maybe what you need to do is find ways to manage your database without
    downloading/uploading the file.

Also stop using a DSN connection as it has been Deprecated from the
MDAC. Then check out the following page to see what you really should
    be doing instead.

As Aaron said you can't be replacing your data file while someone is
trying to access it at the same time.

It's like saying I want to modify a file while it is being replaced. Or
I want to sharpen a hatchet while it is being used. Both times there
    will be problems.
