If I draw a one inch square it exports to AutoCAD, TurboCAD or other CAD program as 25.4 inches. I did not draw it in millimeters yet Illustrator picks it up as 25.4 millimeters then calls those millimeters inches. This is WRONG Jack. It should export using the units that the drawing was was created in and not get mixed up between imperial and metric.

There are some features in Illustrator that are handy as a pocket on a shirt that are not in any CAD program. Trying to export work that those features create then get them scaled properly once in CAD is a real pain the the costamariache.

If Adobe is going to export it needs to be done correctly.
