Default Estimate how much file system space will be require fro backup

    Greetings:-

I am trying to estimate , how much file system space will be required for
    backup in db2.

    Example : if I have a 100 GB database , how much
file system space will require to complete a backup successfully.

    a. Will it 100 GB or 100% of the database size
    b. more the 100 % of the database size. If choice 'b' more how much more.
    c. less than 100 GB, example 30 % or 30 Gig. If 'c' what will the size.

Default Re: Estimate how much file system space will be require fro backup

The size of your backup depends on the actual amount of data, for
example, if you have two 5 gig dms tablespaces and each is 50% full,
then for a rough estimate you can say the size of the backup will be 5
gigs ... It will be actually bigger than this as the backup contains
other information like the history file, log file header, database
    config etc...

    Cheers
