Eudora Question - Mac Applications & Software

I have read the Eudora manuel and am still puzzled by the following: I have settings as follows. DELETE FROM SERVER WHEN EMPTIED FROM TRASH and SKIP MESSAGES OVER 40K. When I retrieve messages that are less than 40k are they deleted from the server as retrieved. Default Eudora Question

I have read the Eudora manuel and am still puzzled by the following:

I have settings as follows. DELETE FROM SERVER WHEN EMPTIED FROM TRASH
    and SKIP MESSAGES OVER 40K.

When I retrieve messages that are less than 40k are they deleted from
the server as retrieved. (the status seems to show DELETE commands)

Does DELETE FROM SERVER WHEN EMPTIED FROM TRASH only apply to messages
that are not normally deleted when retrieved.

When I empty the trash will the over 40k messages be deleted from the
server or do I still have to mark them to be deleted and retrieve mail?

I think I may have answered my own question. It looks as though
deleting the "over 40k" messages from the computer will cause Eudora to
send a "delete from server" command the next time the mail is
retrieved. There is no need to mark the individual items for server
deletion as long as "delete from server when emptied from trash" is
checked. Under 40k messages are deleted from server at the time of
    retrieval.

    Please confirm.

Anything left on the server by any rule is deleted when the trash is
    emptied.

Any messages under 40K are deleted immediately *unless* you also check the
    "leave mail on server" option.

The question would have been more appropriate at the newsgroup
    comp.mail.eudora.mac, I think.

    Best wishes, Christian

Messages less than 40K will be deleted from the server after they're
downloaded, UNLESS you have turned on the option to "Leave on server for
__ days", in which case they'll be deleted after __ days.

Yes, it applies to messages that weren't already deleted from the server.

If the message is still in one of your Eudora mailboxes, it will not be
    deleted from the server.

If you delete it from your mailbox in Eudora, it will be deleted from
the server after you empty Eudora's trash.

If you want to delete it from the server but keep it in your Eudora
mailbox, use one of the "Delete" options under the Message -> Change ->
Server Options menu, or using the popup menu in the "Server" column of
your mailbox. The message will then be deleted from the server the next
    time you check your mail.
