Each hosting company is different so you will have to ask them. There is a
way to add the event gateway with the adminapi, but you still need to have
access to the admin password. Since the hosting company doesn't allow you to
access the cfadmin, odds are they won't give you the password either. But
you can always ask.

Out of curiosity, what does your gateway do?

Default Event Gateways

In Cold Fusion MX, I am supposed to be able to open up the ColdFusion
administrator and click on Event Gateways, then Gateway Types.

I should see a list of the default gateways that ship with ColdFusion MX 7.

I don't get see this as an option when I open my CF administrator.

Any suggestions as to why not.

Thanks for your time

The most obvious reason I can think of is that you are using the Standard edition of ColdFusion, which doesn't support Event Gateways; only Enterprise supports them.

Thanks Andy, you are right. I have the Standard edition.

I am trying to create a file managment system (following
http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/05/08/index3a.html?tw=programming as an
example)

Can I do this without event gateways?

Thanks
