export has large black areas
Hi.
I am a newbie to Director, but I have used many animation packages. However. I would like to export the stage at a certain frame point (to a bitmap) so i can edit the contents of that frame in photoshop and produce some images of the movie.
The prolem is that the output of the stage is appallingly low res, has a huge black area and a little screenshot in the centre left. The pixel dimensions the output match my stage dimensions but however the overall output is mainly a black area.
Is there something i am doing wrong? I have created most of my animation from imported JPEGs. Could this be the problem?
Stage size 2000x1000 (could this also be the problem?)
Frame length 400 frames.
Director 8.5
Is there some little setting I have missed?
This is probably a really stupid thing i am doing wrong. :)
Any suggestions would be appreiciated.

Re: export has large black areas
1. Make sure your stage is set to be Centered... check this out in the
properties Inspector - Movie
2. 2000 x 1000 pixels is quite a big stage, You must have your monitor set
to that resolution so Director can export correctly. Director does not
automatically adjusts its projection size. In case you want or need this use
lingo.
3. BMP format will show some disadvantages when handling photo images so I
would suggest u to try exporting as AVI, no compression, full quality. You
can even bring down the FPS to 1. Then use Premier to re-export this images
into nice PNG or JPEGs.. I am not sure but may be you can use Photoshop or
Corel for this last process...
4. Finally, if all this fails... you can always capture one by one screen
using the Print Screen button in your keyboard and then pasting it on to
photoshop. If u intend to capture many frames this might be quite a heavy
job, but if you need a feew this is alright. You would capture screens by
executing a projector ... crop anthing u dont want or like.
