Default Export to PDF and resize...?

I've made an invitation that is 5x17 inches, which we want to post as a PDF on the company's website.
We want people to be able to print it out on 8.5 x11 paper.
As I created a PDF, I didn't see a place that gave me the option to resize it.

Is there a way for me to do this, or is it up to the end user?

    Thanks a lot.

Default Re: Export to PDF and resize...?

Reader's default is to fit a page to printers margins. But if you want
ot knock it down to size, just place it in a new ID file, scale it down
    and export it again.

    Thanks.
For some reason on both my printer, and theirs, the resizing is not happening automatically.

For this project, I woud like to scale it down, so that anyone can print this out and without having to think abou it, it will come out scaled to fit 11 inch paper.

Short of rebuilding the whole thing in a smaller document, how do I scale it down?
If I do it in the document setup, it simply cuts off part of the document.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks.

Create a new 8.5x11 document. Place the PDF. Scale it down. Export a new
    PDF.

    Done.

    Thanks. That works.

Just to clarify, Place did not work. All of my INDD docs were greyed out when I tried to do that.
However, I was able to simply Select All, copy and paste into the new doc and then scale using Transorm.

Place the PDF, not the document!
