Default Export to .pdf lightens colors in linked psd photo?

    Hi Guys

Im having a frustrating problem, I have an illy document that has to placed psd photos in it and when i print from illy to my desktop inkjet the color on the photos looks radiant, with lots of contrast but when I export to pdf it and then print to same printer it comes out lightened and flat looking. Any ideas? I need to output to pdf to take to printer who will be outputing with high end color laser that uses cmyk toner so not sure if that would fix it but anyways any help would be hugely appreciated.

PS. I used the press settings for pdf export except changed the version to acroba 6 since i know my printer has it.

    Thanks in advace

    Samuel,

How are you creating the PDF? Are you Saving to PDF or printing to Adobe
    PDF? (You said 'export')

Where are you printing the PDF from, Illustrator or Acrobat. If Acrobat is
that Reader or the full Acrobat application? What happens if you print the
    PDF from Illustrator?

when i print from illustrator it looks brighter and with more contrast and when i save the illy file to a pdf and print it from acrobat 6 professional it looks way flatter and duller. I have the color setting in illy to cmyk.

    Samuel,

From Illustrator's Edit>Colour Settings d/box SAVE your colour settings to a
    colour settings file (.CSF)

From Acrobat's Edit>Preferences>Colour Management Select the .CSF you just
    saved.

Now you can be sure both are using the same Colour Management settings

Thanks..and i figured out that you have to place the .csf file in the default settings folder since acrobat color management dialog box has no way to load the file like ps or illy. Another quick question is that now that i have it printing like i want it at home how can i make sure that when i take it to my printer (cmyk laser) he will be able to acurately reproduce it, would i bring the csf file and have hime load it in acrobat?

Thanks So Much for all the Help : )

    Samuel,

    It really shouldn't be necessary.

If the Acrobat Colour settings are set to OutputIntent overrides working
spaces and the correct printer profile is selected in the Print>Advanced
d/box then the embedded profile will be respected and will print correctly.
Anyone who regularly receives PDFs for output from a variety of sources
should have their Acrobat settings already adjusted to those settings
