    Default Re: Export to SWF

I had a similar problem and this worked---

the preview file that freehand creates when exporting to swf with the ctrl-return keys has always looked OK with all the line weights this file is stored as a temporary document in c:documents and settings/-your user name-/local settings/Temp the file is given a temporyfilename with the appendage tmp if you copy the file out while its being previewed in freehand (otherwise the file dissapears) and change the appendage to .swf everything seems to work.

Hmmm, novel idea. Unfortunately, I am using a Mac and am having difficulty locating the temp folder (there is a temporary items folder somewhere though). It sounds like the principle will work though. Since then I took the long way round and re did the animation in Flash simply using copy and paste from the Freehand layers to Flash (only 12 frames).

Thanks for the pointer and I'm bound to use that method at a later date.

Any ideas where this temp file would be located on Mac OS X? (Using FreeHand MX (11))

Unfortunately, I never did find out where FreeHand stores those temporary files. Flash is easy, but FreeHand ? well...

I'm using MXa, so no age issues there I'd be interested to know (if you ever find it) where the temporary items from FreeHand are stored. That would be kinda useful, but there's always a work around.

With the help of Macromedia's David Gangwisch, the answer is now out there.

Thanks Landis, I knew there was a reason as to why I couldn't find that blasted temporary folder.
