Default Exporting field contents to .html file

I have a problem that I reckon somone has come across before.

We have a database where I enter an HTML header and an HTML footer into two
    global fields.
We then have a non-global field called text.
Another calculation field called HTML then concatenates the HTML header &
    text & HTML footer together.

    My question is..

Is there a way to print the data from the one field of that record into a
plain .html file on my computer? Ready for me to upload it to our webserver?
There's nothing of use in the export function.

I don't suppose the old 'print to file' would be any use would it?

    Thanks

It sure would. If your on Windows install the generic print driver and
print to file will generate a text file without any additional
formatting. I would only be assuming there is a similar driver on Mac.

Why couldn't you just export that one calc field?

    What pkatform are you using?

Export the one field from one record as a tab-delimited text file. There
won't be any tabs, with no multiple fields to delimite. Tab-delimited
keeps the resulting text file from being surrounded in quotes (I do this
every day to make DOS macros out of FM concatenation fields).

You'd have to rename the file from file.tab to file.htm, but if the file
always had the same name, you could work the filename & suffix into the
    export scriopt.

Actually, there is. Export as tab delimited, and make the filename
whatever you want - index.html will work for instance. As it is
only one field, there will be no tabs in the final file... used
to do this all the time with FM 3, before it became web native
and could write it's own web pages directly.

    FMP4.1 on WinXP Pro.

    Thanks for all the help.
