    Default Exporting metadata

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to export the metadata associated with an image file, then create an adobe web photo gallery which contains the metadata. Basically, I want to be able to browse a catalog of images online which contain the resolution information of the original files.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks,

    danny

You can export metadata from theh File Browser flyout arrow. It makes a file in the folder the pictures are in. I don't know how to use that file though, but it might be a start.

There's also MetaReader <http://www.sover.net/~hannigan/edjh.html> but not for OS X. Again, not sure how to use the info to do what you want once it's saved.

Also, you ahould ask about this on the Scripting forum. This seems like it could be best done with a script.

It is already there. I search for an option to lock that info so it is not available.

    Here look at this ( <http://www.xtremeracinginc.com/photo/barton/sno0320.html> )
enlarge any photo - download and load in your cs file browser.
click the metadata tag, then arrow to right for options. select what you want and view.
all your info is available to any one else - they can even change the copywrite info on their system and re publish. I know because I tried on different system and it worked.

If anyone knows how to lock that info so it is not available - please let me know

    Thanks

There are two applications that let you export metadata to Excel or other output. One for the Mac would be iView Media Pro. Just create a catalog then create an output (Make / Text Table ) then select the fields you want. Great product.

The other is for windows. Same idea as above. I have limited use with it, but seems to work.
