Re: Exporting Print Presets
"Also most of our clients don't have distiller, and are creating PDFs "
Ok, so then how are they creating their PDFs? What applications: Illustrator, inDesign, Quark? Or all of the above?

Will
I don't really believe doing that would help unless they used the Same OS, exact same printer, and used the exact same Print Driver. Everything would have to be exactly the same in order for your presets to work on their machine.
What would be better is to send a set of direction s on how you have everything set, and have them set up like yours the save it. They would then be customized to work with their system, Printer, and Print Driver.

Erm. Hate to correct you but print shops (as well as me) do this all the time. It's called a job options file and not only does it work but it's usable cross platform.

Re: Exporting Print Presets
And to answer the original question, one way to do it would be to open Distiler, create the settings you want (if you don't already have a preset) then simply "save as" to your desktop or wherever and send that file to your clients.
All they would have to do would be to double click it to install it. It will show up in Distiller, Acrobat, InDesign...etc. and will run on Mac or Windows.

.... and we could write a 1,000 page book which covers all the different
settings associated with generating a good PDF for print ... the
Distiller job option is just the tip of the ice berg ... crash!
(but a positive starting point)
