I'm using InDesign to set up invoice & renewal letters for magazine subscriptions. For the initial setup, I'm basically setting up one, constant form, saving it, and then using "Save As" to create the different letter efforts I need.

However, when I go to export the file to a PDF or an EPS version, the file name doesn't always change to match the InDesign version. Sometimes it does--I'll hit Export and the correct name comes up in the dialog box; Sometimes it doesn't--I'll try to Export and the LAST file name comes up instead of the name of the current file. It's not a consistent problem, and while I'm trying to be extra careful to catch this so I can export to the correct file, I sometimes miss it. (As in, I accidentally overwrote a first effort renewal letter that said "You're coming up for renewal, would you like to continue your subscription" with a final effort that more or less said, "Your subscription has expired, you deadbeat!" All because the file name on the Export window didn't match the name of the file I had open and I didn't catch it in time.)

Is there ANYTHING I can do to prevent this?? Like I said, it's not a consistent problem, and eternal vigilance is inevitably going to fail at some point!

Thanks,

Deb
