Extending Navigation Bar

I made a left navigation bar in Fireworks and imported it into Dreamweaver (in
a table). The bar extends to the end of the page. Some of my html pages are 2
to 3. How do I extend the navigation bar to continue until the end of the
table? Should I do it in Fireworks or Dreamweaver. Thank you.
