    Default Extensions?

    Complete newbie questions:

    1. Are there any Dreamweaver server extensions similar to FrontPage
extensions which must be installed on the server to make forms work
    correctly?

    2. Where can I get these extensions if they are required?

    3. Do they conflict with any FrontPage extensions running on a Win2k IIS 5.0
    server?

    Thanks,

    Arvin Meyer

No. There are some extensions which require some server-side scripting to
work, but it is completely different than Front Page.

Most Dreamweaver extensions are completely self-contained, or they tell you
if they require another component or script. Most extensions simply insert
code into your page. The extension itself is like a ZIP file that adds
functionality to your personal copy of Dreamweaver.

    No.

Front Page and FP Extensions are an awful set of watered down, buggy server
    scripts.

DW is really just an HTML editor, it doesn't deal with anything running on
the server. If you want to process your forms, you need to have some sort of
forms processing on the server. That may be ASP code, PHP, perl, what have
you, but it's not something that DW provides for you out-of-the-box.

    Right. DW, itself, does not.
