Extensions Manager 2.0
I downloaded a trial of Dreamweaver CS4 and want to see how an extension that I
purchased behaves (one from Web Assist which is CS4 compatible). When trying to
install it - the Extensions Manager is in German. Huh? Help

Re: Extensions Manager 2.0
From your info I can guess that you are running an English version of DW on
a German OS... Am I right?
You should open EM directly from DW to see it in English, using either
'commands->manage extensions...' or using the 'extend DW' button next to the
menus.

100% English here. I have NO idea where the German text, etc came from in the
Extensions Manager CS4. At my wits end here.

Will try that today. If I open the EM directly from within DW will it see and
load the .mxp file of the extension?????

Re: Extensions Manager 2.0
Then you are not the only one who is surprised about it...
The EM works in the same way if you open it from DW: Just click the install
button and search for the mxp file you want to install. You will have to
restart DW to see the changes though.

Re: Extensions Manager 2.0
Thanks for the help. What is the proper way to uninstall the Extensions Manager CS4? Can I just drag the folder to the trash?
(maybe if I reinstall the Extensions Manager it may help)

Re: Extensions Manager 2.0
AFAIK, the rgith way to remove it is trying to remove DW using add/remove
programs in control panel...
Have you tried installing the 2.1 patch first?

Re: Extensions Manager 2.0
I'm on a Mac ...... I believe the Control Panel - Add/Delete programs is for a PC.
Tried installing the 2.1 patch first. No go. Says Extentions Manager CS4 is already installed

Re: Extensions Manager 2.0
It seems that just dragging it to the trash is not a good idea...
Taken from EM CS4 Release notes:
http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/extension_manager/cs4/ExtensionManagerCS4_ReleaseNotes.pdf
(quote)
IMPORTANT: Mac OS has new uninstall functionality. DO NOT drag applications
to the trash to uninstall them. To safely uninstall on Mac OS X,
double-click the
product installer in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers. Authenticate
as an
administrator, then select Remove Components and follow the on-screen
instructions

Re: Extensions Manager 2.0
This is almost comical. I was able to reinstall from my original disks. When I
run CS4 Extensions Manager ..... it's still in German and none of my extensions
will install. Geez
