    Default "extract pages" greyed out (version 9pro...but also in version 7!)

    Just bought version 9 to try to just get this to work. Want to simply extract pages from a pdf document. Those and many other commands are greyed out. This is still happening in version 9 as it was in version 7 for me, though did work at some point on another mac. I checked and am not missing any updates in version 9.
    Thanks...Darren

    Darren, I just had this similar problem and what it is is the type of PDF you made. If you use one of the PDFA types this is a archival type of PDF and the pages cannot be extracted.

    If you want to get more info about the PDF types do a search from the Adobe home page for "pdf/a". This will give you numerous links to technical docs regarding this and other PDF document types.

    Check File > Document Properties too. Most likely it is security -
    protected PDFs.
