extracting image problem in version 6 and 7

I have problems with extracting images out of print quality pdfs, it replaces the image but, brings it to front in version 6. I work around it by using pitstop. I submitted a bug report and nothing was ever done by Adobe because, I have all the latest updates and it still doesn't put the image back were it came from like in versions 4 and 5. Now in version 7 it completely moves the image to the bottom left corner. We were told that the fix is to use Photoshop 8 to extract. I have photoshop 8, in OS 10.3, and Acrobat 6. All of the other computers in our entire company were upgraded the year after mine. They all have photoshop 9, in OS 10.4, and Acrobat 7, they are not going out and buying all new photoshop to compensate for a product defect. Has anyone heard or have any insight on this?
