Thanks for putting this up for sale just after I bought the exact same
    combination new :-)

Nice gear - really like mine.

Sorry :-( I was not going to sell this gear until yesterday... I had
actually gone through the whole process before and backed out at the
    last moment (sorry Derek)
But this time it HAS to go... I need the money.
In the future I will buy the canon IS version of this lens.
I actually don't use this 70-200 as much as I should as it is a really
solid piece of glass.. great on a tripod or monopod but too heavy for
hand held otherwise... I need the IS for better shots (indoor wedding
    type stuff)

:-) you are kidding when you say it is too heavy to handheld right? :-) the
IS version I think is even heavier (yes, you get a few stops more) and I
have handheld it at 1/8 sec but don't ask me to do it again :-) and I am
sure there are more anecdotes here to confirm the same.
before you buy the IS version you probably need to invest in a gym
membership and swing around with those hand weights :-) sorry if I have
stepped over the line, but seriously it is still very heavy.

    best of luck

It's not the weight of the lens really.. that is not really what I ment
(after all I am 110kg)though I do struggle after about 10 seconds or so
holding focus to get the right moment... it is more the simple 1/focal
length rule for hand held shots. I wouldn't hand hold my 70-300 at
300mm indoors either for weddings. I need the extra "help" of the IS to
get rid of some of that wobble that occours shooting 1/60th at 200mm.
