FAP suddenly empty
(I’m awaiting reply from Insider Software on this problem, but it’s a long-weekend, so am posting here. . .)
I’ve been using FAP (FontAgent Pro) for months, no problems. Suddenly it’s totally empty, showing no library of fonts, sets, nothing! Hoping I don't have to rebuild, that there's a simpler solution -- i.e. could this be resolved by emptying font caches (I've never done that, don't know exactly what it does)
FAP is intact on my back-up drive, but I’m not sure which files to copy over if I have to go that route.
thanks,
Jim

Re: FAP suddenly empty
It sounds as if you either moved/renamed your FAP data base folder (FontAgent Pro Fonts); or you inadvertently trashed your FAP Prefs. (which you may be able to retrieve from your back-up drive).
Look for:
Home/Library/FontAgent Pro/ … and all the files within it; and
Home/Library/Preferences/ … and the three com.insidersoftware Prefs.
And it is certainly safe to trash the font caches: I do that every night, as a matter of routine, using Cocktail.

Re: FAP suddenly empty
Thanks Ann,
Data base folder hasn't been removed or renamed: all files and folders you mentioned are identical on both the main drive and back-up. I haven't "replaced" the pref files on the main with the ones from the back-up, though some on main drive could, I suppose, be contaminated.
I've run Disk Warrior, repaired permissions and trashed font caches

Re: FAP suddenly empty
I would try replacing your current Prefs with the Back-up ones.
If that doesn't work, you may be stuck with having to re-import all of your fonts — which would mean re-creating all of your special Libraries.
Incidentally, you don't happen to have FontBook or another font mgmnt. program active do you? That could screw-up FAP.

No
Changing prefs didn't do anything. I'll see what Insider has to say before I rebuild. Thanks for your time and input.
