FH10 Crashes on print

I use FH10 on Mac osx 10.2, with a networked Epson EPL6100 laser and an Epson 1290 inkjet.

Often when I click 'print' the print job is sent to the printer, then FH10 crashes. Its a real drag!

Its a problem that just won't go away for me, I have tried reinstalling the software and even installing on a separate machine but still the problem persists.

I don't know what I can do, I am not prepared to move up to FHMX.

Can anyone suggest how I might fix this?

Just joined the board but I have a print problem as well, see 28-11-03; not that the programme crashes the print spools and "prints" but actually does not, itjust disappears into the ether. Sounds like there could be a link.
I'll keep a look out for a reply to your problem.

I'm having a similar problem with FreeHand MX. It prints fine on A3 but on oversize A3, 13"x18" it appears to be printing and a page goes through but nothing appears on it.

I do get a message saying that the artwork is too big for the print area and do I want to print a portion, but still nothing appears.

I've sorted my problem with FHMX. I'm completely new to FreeHand and I hadn't grasped that before printing, using the Print dialogue, I should specify the size in Print Setup.

Still haven't worked out how to save my Print Setup settings but at least I can print on oversize A3.

I have found that always printing to Acrobat Distiller has solved my printing problems in a Windows setting with FH8 and then FH10. After distilling, I have to print from Acrobat for hard proofs which is an extra step. However this has proven to be very reliable and eliminated problems exporting EPS's too.
