FH10 FILE CORRUPTION?

Running MAC OS 10.1.3
I upgarded to FH10 last year and recently experienced trouble trying to open many, many files
created in 10 and older versions (7), often my preview window will show garbled color or patterns. Files with onlyvector and no embeddments will give error messages saying "unknown FH file" I have worked on some of these these same files without problems within the last 7 months but now, lots of error messages. I'm running OS 10.1.3 on my G4. I did have to wipe my HD and do a re-install of the OS, I backed up all files, reinstalled FH10 and all data. Any suggestions, like re-installing FH?
Desperate for help, this is driving me crazy!

Hi, I have a similar problem since using Freehand MX (OS-X 10.2).

Without any crash or anything I got the following error-message:
"Could not complete your request because the file is not a valid FreeHand document"

I´ve adding the extension .fh10 but after a longer "wheel of death" I got the same error again.
Maybe MX uses another extension?

Again I´ve tried to attach the file but the upload sucks still in case of Macromedia Files even if I add something like ".jpg"
If someone thinks he can help (macromedia support) me with that file please mail me your eMail an I will send that corrupted stuff

I do also have this problem at a customer.

this is very frustating. But luckily moving to OS X now does urge customers to
decide whether to upgrade expensively to quark or use adobe creative suite with
indesign and ILLUSTRATOR, which seems much more stable.

I cannot believe how buggy FreeHand is, how they change user interface totally
every 1-2 versions. I know many who like freehand 8 or 9 the best and don't use
their 10 or MX updates
