FH10 files in windows become invalid after a restart
Hi there,
I am new to this forum and desparately seeking help!
I am using Freehand 10 for windows and occasionally files (usually critical ones!) become unusable after i have restarted my computer.
When trying to open these files I get a Freehand error message that says that the file is not a valid freehand document. I can still see the file in the "preview" window (in Freehands "open" window) and the files still have a file size.
Has anyone else had this problem before. Is there a way of recovering these files? What causes this?
Please help!!
Rozanne

Re: FH10 files in windows become invalid after a restart
I am interested in the same answer that you are looking for, however, the difference being that I just upgraded to Freehand MX 11.0.1 and my first file created using the software gives me, "Could not convert the document because the file is not a valid Freehand document". My file is recognised in the Open Document window as a Freehand 11 file and provides the file size.
Client is not happy with this error message. And tech support doesn't recognise the new serial number. Is my solution to recreate the file and have the same thing happen over, and over, and over?
Any help is greatly appreciated! --Kim
