    Default FHMX Text-on-path scaling weirdness

Scaling text-on-path with PostScript fonts is so odd I can't figure out
    what's happening.

    1. Draw curved path. Leave selected.

    2. Cmd-Shift-Y to attach text to the path. Type '2004'. Font must be a
    PostScript font.

    3. Select text. Cmd-Shift-period a few times to scale text larger.

    4. With text still selected, go to text inspector. In character width
scaling field, enter any value (30% will be really obvious).

Result: Width of characters does not scale. The whole character scales
    smaller in both dimensions.

If you detach this text from a path, select text box and try to scale, only
the text box scales, not the text. This only happens with text detached from
a path. Ordinary text boxes still scale the text as expected.

I've tried with various PostScript fonts and get the same results. Truetype
fonts scale normally as expected, on or off a path.

    Anyone else seeing this?

    Judy,

I worked on an issue like this a couple of weeks ago. I was able to provide the details to the engineers about this strange redraw thing.

I don't think it is specifically related to FontAgent Pro because I was able to reproduce the problem without FontAgent Pro.

Thanks John. You're right. I've uninstalled FontAgent Pro and I'm still
    seeing it.

I'm now also seeing the letters alternately pop up and down as if some had a
baseline shift applied. It seems to affect the text when zoomed in to high
magnifications such 1600% and then return to normal at lower magnifications.
It also happens in ordinary text boxes that have never been attached to
paths. Very disconcerting and problematical to say the least.

This morning I had a job that required a certain Postscript font (GillSans
BoldCondensed by Adobe) at a certain horizontal scale. After wasting over an
hour trying to figure out what was going wrong I finally converted to paths
and used the Envelope to shape the text. Hope you can get this fixed.

    Judy,

The wacky baseline shift thing was the way I saw the problem.
