File doesn't display properly

Help! I have Freehand 10 installed on a Windows XP PC. I'm trying to open files
created in FH9 on a Mac, the files are catalog pages with a border, text and 2
or 3 small pictures in the center. On some pages the pictures only display as a
box with an X in them, some pages display one of the pictures but not the other
(just the X). I've checked the details on the picture files, they're all
exactly the same. If I export the files as Photoshop.eps, I can see the entire
page - pictures and all - just perfect. I can import them into Illustrator and
edit them. Why can't I see the entire page in Freehand? It would be nice to be
able to edit them in the format in which they were originally created instead
of going through all the trouble of exporting, importing and editing. Please -
any assistance would be appreciated.

Makuahine,

FreeHand displays the preview only of an imported EPS (Encapsulated
Postscript) that it cannot open. It's likely that the 'pictures' are Mac EPS
with a PICT preview that your PC platform can not display.

Illustrator has a Postscript interpreter and can open all varieties of EPS.
By opening in Illustrator and resaving, you are letting Illustrator write a
preview for your PC platform.

Quark EPS format exported from FH Mac contains previews for both platforms.
